lph 300 inital setup

Hello I am using a lph 300 with 1.3 nozzle. I am shooting water based furniture finish. The ford 4 cup was 25seconds unthinned. Can I shoot something this thick with the gun and could you please give me some initial settings.

[b] Hi Mike first sorry I was slow answering your text, Second the fluid tip air cap combo on your LPH 300 will not spray FORD 4 25 second material.

Thank you for responding. I can thin the finish 10 % hopefully this will get it down. Any idea what I should be spraying at in terms for the ford 4 cup?

If you are going to spray high viscosities materials I suggest a 2.0 fluid tip, that would put you in a position with the proper reduction to spray them very nicely.


2.0 fluid nozzle #93622600 Marked 100LV/20 YOU WOULD ALSO NEED THE FLUID NEEDLE # 93703530 MARKED AS 10018


Those coupled with your present set up you should pretty much have it covered

Hub thanks for the input. I'm having another problem. I had some water in my air cap after cleaning it. I put it back on the gun and I'm getting water bubbles where the air cap screws onto the gun. When I went to spray some finish I got some drops of finish onto the surface I was spraying. The cap is tight any idea's what might be causing this?

a little more detail on the air leak . If I have no cup of finish attached to the gun and just shoot air through the gun if I put water on the threads that the air cap is screwed onto I get bubbles with air leaking back between the air cap and the gun body.

Water leaks some time when air won't - check the threats on the cap and the gun body If the threads are worn. damaged or dirty it could leak.

Now that being said water will leak where air wont. The paint drips, could be dirty fluid tip ,or worn needle or if the fluid adjustment knob is set past wide open or a weal return spring
