Gun for ppg clear

witch gun would you recomend for the ppg concept, I have ben using a sata rp and I am looking for a good replacment. I have ben told the CVi and plus guns are very good. thanks Hub and good night

I havent sprayed Concept with my LPH-400-LV , BUt I do spray PPG's Global and Their 3000 every day with excellent results .

Ive recently sprayed some black Concept jobs with my LV and Im amazed with the results. Ive always found the concept a pain to spray with other guns. Either didbnt flow enough or flowed too much.

That has been my problem, not enough or too much. Maybe I need to change the clear that I use, any suggestions.

Hello Homer,
Most good paint jobber have a Demo program.
Contact your local paint jobber and ask them to let you try an LPH400LV 1.4 IF they don't offer that service post your phone number on my PM & I'll give you a call and see what we can arrange. Also post your time zone and the best time to call

Ipicked up the gun today and I realy like the feel, it is way more comfortable and lighter than my sata. I will post sunday and let you know how I did with it. Thank's for your help Hub.

Which fluid nozzle came with the demo gun you picked up? and did anyone give you any starter settings, If not and you'd like some I'm here.

HI hub, they gave me a 1.3 and a 1.4 , and I think I have seen some base settings on this sight but I will have to look for them. The only one I realy need is the pressure, I will start with the fluid at 3 turns out, full fan
just not shure about the pressure.

Hello Homer,
Choice of fluid nozzles
Use the 1.3 if your technique is deliberate & on the slow side.
Use the 1.4 if your technique is close & fast

Material control knob set at 3 - 4 full turns open from the close position

Inlet air pressure set at 16 PSI ** SET WITH THE TRIGGER IN THE FULL BACK POSITION AND WITH AIR FLOWING THROUGH THE GUN.

Fan control knob set to achieve an 8 - 9 inch spray pattern at a 7 inch spray distance.

Remember these are suggested starter settings and you can change any or all up ot down to suit your spray technique.

Well I used the LPH400LV today and I think it is the best gun I have ever used. The only thing I wish I had done was put the 1.4 tip on, I used the 1.3 and after the first coat I wet to 4 turns out on the mterial adjustment
and slowed down a little more. This gun has such good feel and ballance the clear layed donw very well, for the first time using it and it will not hvae to be cut or buffed. I wish I had a complete job to do, could have used the 1.4 and realy got it diled in. well I think the SATA will take a spot on the self after I get one of these guns, I like it more than I thought I would, just wish it came with a regulator.
Thank you very much Hub, with out your help I may have never tryed this gun. Agine it worked great oh yeah it does not use very much air either, that was the nice thing all the clear does not blow dack at you.

Yes the LPH400LV's are very conservative when it comes to air usage
about 9CFM @ 16 PSI compared to almost 14 CFM @29 PSI for that other gun you mentioned. Alot less overspray too.
